Leamington A cliamed a much needed win over Stratford, their first victory since September. It lifted us out of the relegation zone for the time being ...

    • Steve got us on the board first, with an entertaining win over a higher rated player (see below). Tom then made it 2-0, winning a pawn in the middle game and keeping that edge through to an easily won king and pawns endgame. There were plenty of twists and turns throughout the game on board 1, but Dan eventually managed to hold an endgame where he only had two pawns for a knight. With the match decided, Stratford managed to get one back, a lost exchange proving decisive in a sharp game where both kings were in peril.
